He has extensive experience in farming both in livestock and vegetable crops. He was responsible for a 40-acre chicken farm at the age of 14, and worked on a dairy for several years. He farmed his entire childhood and into young adulthood until he began his two year religious service followed by his military service in the United States Submarine Fleet.
