I am a mother of six. We have been homeschooling since 2018. I received my bachelor’s in biology and have done a lot of teaching in various formats, but I don’t feel that is necessary to be a great homeschooling parent. I have learned, and continue to evolve in, what I desire for my kids’ education from many other mentors. I have high expectations but choose to be flexible in curriculum from year to year, as well as with my children’s needs and interests. I want to teach my children that learning and education are a lifelong pursuit and that there are many paths to get where you want to go. Understanding how you tick and being aware of yourself from moment to moment, as well as self-governance, are foundational to anything else we do.
